I may be defining myself as crazy but I’m gonna make this blog anyway.

I feel like I’m not the only one that gets this feeling but I guess i might be haha. Sometimes after I watch a movie that is particularly LONG or SCARY or DEEP I come out of the movie with a weird aura surrounding me. For instance a LONG MOVIE , I sometimes come out and I feel like I’m a part of the movie at that point. Like the characters are my friends and things. Yeah you know i’m nuts, you love it. Or say a movie is a really DEEP BRAIN-TWISTING MOVIE  about how a man is going crazy in his head? The next hour I’ll be just as mentally insane. Sometimes i even feel mildly panicky if the movie was about someone with a serious medical condition.

There are some studies done that say that television and movies are bad for our brains because they are moving thoughts that are going faster than our brains are intended for. I think this could be part of what I’m trying to say, but who knows?

Movie that most recently did this to me: Synecdoche, new york

Great Movie. Confusing? Yes. Good Acting? Umm, Philip Seymour Hoffman?? Of course there is good acting.

To sum up the craziness: It’s a movie about real life where they are making a movie about real life. (Onions have layers, and so does this movie)

So I saw this and felt drunk crazy for like two hours. Was cool at first then i got annoyed with it.

Just wanted to put that out there cause it always happens to me.

In other news… I feel like I have many things to do in a day but never get them done. I constantly have this feeling and I’m trying to figure out a way to fix that. Step one for me was to remember the thoughts i have during the day. I fixed this by purchasing a pocket pen:

This pocket pen is cool. It fold into a small pocket size, but

then when you unfold it, it becomes a regualar pen size.

Awesome, i know. So first step to getting more stuff done

is A. Remember things.

Item One-Pen

Item Two?-I bought a pocket size moleskine book.

Moleskines? You know the cool little black journals> (http://www.moleskine.com/)

So I now keep the pocket size book and pen with me at all times. When an amazing thought pops into my head (Ex. Start blogging again) I can simply write it down and remember it. Awesome? Yes.

Alright I’m almost done ranting, lastly I just wanna state one more idea i have about feeling more accomplished. Starting new habits. Playing guitar more, reading more, etc. I think it is a grand idea to get good habits in your life. I also think that the best way to do this is :1. Do one thing at a time, choose your first habit. 2. Do this habit for 35 days. (If you can do something for 35 days essentially you have started this habit, you will have to do this thing with other things in your life happening for a whole month, planning around things, etc.) 3. If you fall off the boat, don’t wait! Swim back to the boat and get the crap back on!

I hope to start some good habits over the next few months. We’ll see.

IN THE YEAR 2010:

John’s Blog is back and business is booming. I got loads happening in my life. Just wanna clue you cats into some new happenings:

-Getting Married to the love of my life (Lucy Mercer).

-Moving into a new Apartment soon.

-Working at Whole Foods Market for a little over a year now.

-Loving it all.

I Apologize SO intensely about slacking so much in the blog world. A few things happened to stop it. Major things going on in my life as previously stated is the first reason. The second is simply the fact that i ran out of media space on my blog account and couldn’t add any more pictures. Honestly i love to read peoples blogs but i need some eye candy, and without this on my own blog i just couldn’t do it..WELLLLL… I recently logged on to check out my account and found out they added tons of space. So thank you to the powers that be at WordPress.

All that to say that the blog will be kicking off again…

Malheur 10 golden:

This beers name means “misfortune.”  This beer is 10 percent in alcohol content. It’s quite a fruity beer. Malheur is very appetizing, and has a great flowery taste. If you are still on basic belgian beers aka Blue Moon, then you must try this.

Rogue: Dead Guy Ale:

This is a German Maibock beer. Deep honey in color, with a malty aroma. This beer just has a great taste. Personally I find it the most attractive taste out of the Rogue Ales, and Rogue always has cool names and bottles, so that’s a plus.  

Leffe:

This is a monk beer. It’s considered an Abbey beer. It’s a premium Ale, just great refreshing taste.  A kind of a beer that has become very popular in Belgium where it originated. The abbey where the beer was originally brewed was flooded and attacked and all kinds of cool stuff. That makes the beer hardcore. It was bought out by a few different places but today is brewed by Stella Artois brewery (If you’ve never had a Stella, get to your nearest bar asap).

While on the subject. I will rant and say that I am really mad at third eye blind. I’ve been a fan all my life. First cd ever in third grade, and since has been my favorite band. Granted i have seen them before, but, they never ever come to Louisiana. So of course, the one time i go out of town, they come. I am very jealous of everyone going to watch my band at Tulane University on the 21st. You all suck.

And lastly, my favorite story ever. I was at a 3eb show in Virginia at the Toads Place last year. I was on the front row with some very nice looking females that i met. Yeah good story already right? So i’m chilling there and they were on this long bridge of a song, and I yell out “Stephan Jenkins, your my  hero!”, and no kidding the dude looks at me and goes….”NO! Your my fucking hero!!”….. yeah tell that to the grandkids.

Sometimes you just gotta know people….

I saw Sharon Jones this year at Voodoo Fest. She put on an amazing show. Absolutely phenomenal. She in very energetic. She dances really awesome. She is a soul singer with incredible talent. In my book she revels the great Tina Turner herself. I recently purchased her album thinking it wouldn’t quite meet up to par with the live performance. Wow. I was wrong. Go and check her and the boys out.

Sing really loudly to a song with your headphones on.

Tell somebody that they’re the most amazing person that you’ve seen all day.

Start an argument about LSU football with someone you’ve never met.

Go to Raisin Canes.

Drink a beer you’ve never tried.

Search the internet for an unknown punk band.

Read a Bible for 48 minutes.

Be yourself.

Everyone who didn’t go to party on halloween you missed my sweet costume. I went as David Bowie from labyrinth. It was freaking sweet.

Just had a friend at work that made a cool point. Thought I’d share.

We were talking about how to build up others, and how through Christ we can have the strength to be positive even in negative situations. Such as someone gives you a negative comment like “You have a really ugly shirt”, and then you turn around and say “Really? I was on the fence about whether or not i liked it too, you always have a great sense of style.”

So with that conversation going he made a really cool point that i just sort of pondered on throughout the rest of the day. 

-All things were originally created perfect and good. God made everything this way. He made everything that is on the earth. On that note, Satan, he didn’t create any of it. It was all made by God. The evil comes when Satan takes something that is perfectly created by God and he perverts it. This is where we find sin, evil, hurt, lies, etc. God didn’t allow satan to make his own animals or plants. They were all designed by Him, including us.

I thought that was a neat outlook. So deep beneath all of the ugly in the earth is something beautiful that God created. Go out and find it, and share it with your world.

I think as Christians we forget who God is. Just how powerful is God? Look at the things he has done in the Bible. Read the stories of the miracles He’s performed. Look at the destruction he can bring. Look at the healing He can bring. Look how He brings powerful people and their nations quickly to their knees. 

God wants to be respected. He was us to be humble in His presence. He wants us to fear Him. 

-In my opinion this is to have a deep reverence toward the power that God has.

Childlike Faith. I think this can play a good example for the fear of God. Think of a healthy relationship between a father and son. The fathers word is final. The son knows he has a greater knowledge and strength. The son also knows the father has the sons best interest at heart. 

I challenge my Christian friends to take time today and remember the Awesome power of our Heavenly Father. Pray for His protection and guidance as you go through the week.
